I invest significant time to study and learn from successful people.
I remember something my mother said to me: You can learn more from the experience of others than you have time in this life to learn for yourself. So I read, listen, attend seminars, and seek out mentors.
Today, 3 things YOU can learn from the super successful.
(1) Be known for one thing.
Super successful people focus. Most people are a Jack or Jill of all trades, master of none. You meet them and they’ve got this long list of what they do. Even if you like them and want to work with them, you walk away confused, not really having a focus in your mind or a place to start.
(2) Make your one thing work.
Super successful people understand that you can get everything you want, just not all at the time time.
Pick one primary project, learn what you need to know, and make your one thing work.
Here’s something to remember: The moment you decide to do anything above average you’re going to get criticized by people determined to pull you back down to earth. Be open to input but stay focused, make your one thing work, and build from there.
(3) Build your network.
Super successful people understand the power of love in business.
What’s “love in business?”
Tim Sanders, in his book Love Is The Killer App, says love in business is intelligently sharing your knowledge, network of relationships, and caring to create value for others. When you do, you will make new connections that will introduce you to greater relationships and opportunities throughout your life.
Begin by making a list of the 10 to 100 people in various professionals and areas of experience that you recommend to others. Then start looking for opportunities to introduce and connect people together.
